At scouts we done some remembrance day activities, like paint poppies onto pebbles, and guess what badges from the 1940’s meant to boy scouts back in the day, and which badge they’re similar to today.

Some nice looking pieces of art.

This one was done by Anthony. Good work!

Madison created this painting. Wow.
The scouts then had to guess what some badges from the 1940’s meant. During the war, ‘scouts’ done exactly that, they scouted for pathways to get through to places, when their older counterparts were at war, they watched the seas and air for invasion, and they hunted the land for animals to provide meals for those at home.

This one meant “First Aid”. The red (or green and white) cross still means the same today.

This one meant “Rabbit Farmer”. There is a picture of a rabbit on the badge, so that kind of gives it away.

This one meant “Air Spotter”. It looks a bit like a pilot’s badge.

This one meant “Interpreter”. Some scouts who we’re multilingual would be used to help with communications.
A great big thank you to everyone that came to remembrance parade.
