Remembrance activities

This week at cubs we decorated some pebbles with remembrance motifs – there were some soldiers, some poppies, some funny looking colourful pebbles and a whole load of fun.

Some good looking poppies!

This one is Elian’s pebble, decorated with two soldiers who seem to be piggy-backing another two soldiers, or carrying some sort of sophisticated weapons.

After we painted poppies, we attempted to make some stained glass windows with tissue paper. This involved making some poppy petals, some black centres, and then placing them in laminating pouches. Here’s some that worked out well:

Unfortunately, this was short lived after we placed some 3D, scrunched up poppies into the pouches and put them through the laminator, it broke down. So instead, we just took pictures of all of the poppies instead:

And here’s one that one of the beavers made, I couldn’t not include this, look at the size of it!

Thanks to everyone who came to church parade.

Next week the cubs will start working towards their emergency aid level 3 badge, which is the badge awarded after learning first aid, an important life skill.
