Everyone enjoyed their night bowling at the metrocentre. Some of the games over ran a little bit, but overall it was a great night. Here’s Jonny about to roll the ball down the alley. Some of the cubs played amongst the other cubs, and there were some beavers thrown in to the teams as well.

Tonight, the cubs finished off work on their emergency aid badges. They took part in ‘First Aid Bingo’ where they had to tick off the answers to questions. During last Friday’s session the cub scouts were practicing their first aid skills on each other. They also learnt how to deal with hypothermia, heat exhaustion and someone who is choking. During Friday’s session we looked at the aims of first aid, getting help, the importance of being clear when ringing 999, what to do if you see someone unconscious, DRAHB (Danger, Response, Airways, Help and Breathing) and we touched on bleeding and wounds. This week at cubs we decorated some pebbles with remembrance motifs – there were some soldiers, some poppies, some funny looking colourful pebbles and a whole load of fun. Some good looking poppies! We had great fun tonight rolling pumpkins, finding eyes in spaghetti, getting our faces painted and trying to get apples out of water with our mouths. Next week it’s half term, so we will not be meeting. Our next session is Friday 10th November.

During the last of two bring a friend nights, we got in some pizzas from dominos, and some chips from Adam’s fish bar. The cubs seemed to enjoy them! We also made some old fashioned looking posters denoting the cub scout law, and played a game of dodgeball with the beavers! Next week its some

Tonight at cubs the youngsters took part in indoor challenges. This included: This was the first of two ‘bring a friend nights’ and it looked as though the guests really enjoyed themselves! Next Friday we’ll introduce the cubs to the JOTI and they can continue to participate at home if they wish.

In the second night of athletics activities, we participated in a 400m relay race, with each team member running 100m. The cubs also done a long jump, and a sargent jump. Fox came out as the winners of the team athletics games, with a total of 39 points! Followed by wolf with 36 points, and

Tonight we were up at the park doing our first of two team athletics nights! We were split into our teams again, and each team competed in the ball throw, target practice, the 100m sprint, the 400m sprint and the skipping race. So far, Fox is in the lead with 27 points! Let’s see how
