Tonight at cubs the young people participated in the pirate game.
This is a strategic game, somewhat comparable to battleships, where they have to fill in their grid with different abilities and points.
Grid squares are called at random and the youngsters can declare if they have anything special, like a pirate ship which allows them to steal another group’s points, or a skull and cross bones to wipe out an entire row!
To finish the session off we played some games of stuck in the mud.
Next week we begin our module on map reading and compass use, earning the young people their ‘navigator level 2 badge’ by the end of the month.
